Which image format should you send for printing?
Use the format and settings requested by the print provider. There is no single image extension that guarantees a sharp or color-accurate print.
Before you send the file
| Requirement | Check |
|---|---|
| Image dimensions | Enough pixels remain after the final crop. |
| Shape | The image ratio matches the intended print, or the crop is agreed. |
| Color | The color space and profile match the provider's instructions. |
| Format | The exported file opens in the printer’s software. |
Check pixels before the PPI label
A 3000 × 2400 image placed at 10 × 8 inches has 300 pixels per inch in both directions. Changing a metadata label without adding pixels does not improve that image.
Calculate the pixel dimensions for your print.
