Why did an animated image stop moving?
The conversion may have saved only one frame, or the destination may display only a still preview. First check whether the new file actually contains an animation.
Check the conversion
- Open the original and the exported file in a viewer that supports the relevant animation format.
- Check whether the exporter supports animated output, not just the filename extension.
- Check the destination's handling of animation and its preview behavior.
Do not trust the extension alone
GIF and WebP can be static or animated. PNG can use animation extensions too. A file type is not proof that movement survived the conversion.
The image information tool on this site is not an animation inspector. It does not certify frame count or playback timing.
