PJHTech ImagesHow to make an image small enough to upload
Read the error carefully. A limit in MB is a file-size limit. A limit in pixels is a dimension limit. Changing the wrong one may not solve the upload problem.
Make a smaller copy
- Check the accepted formats and any width, height or byte limit.
- Crop irrelevant space only when that does not remove needed content.
- Resize to the required dimensions without stretching the picture.
- Adjust compression if the file is still too large.
- Check the final file size and appearance before uploading.
Leave a little room
Do not aim for a rounded display value exactly at the limit. Use the exact byte count when it is available, and keep the editable original.
